It is possible that an average pulsar time scale PTens may be deduced through along-term stability algorithm using precision timing data from more millisecond pulsars.
With the implementing of the millisecond pulsar timing array( PTA), the application of pulsar time will become possible in the near future.
Typically, millisecond pulsars are around a billion years old.
The possible application may include time keeping by combining of millisecond pulsar with atomic clocks, constructing an ensemble pulsar time scale, detecting the error in atomic time scale via PTA and so on.
In theory, the first step toward producing a millisecond pulsar is the formation of a neutron star when a massive star goes supernova.
