Professor Susan Evans, of University College London, who identified it, said: "This frog is a relative of today's horned toads.
The transformed elder brother, the True White Brother, will wear a red cloak or a red cap, similar to the pattern on the back of a horned toad.
"Ornamentation includes crests on the head, Back, or tail; spines; Brightly coloured throat fans; and throat frills. Most species feed on insects and rodents, But some, such as the iguana, eat plants. See also Gila monster; horned toad."
