By use of laser-Moire deflectometry, the transient temperature field in the swirl chamber has been measured with an actual engine and a lot of clear Moire photographs have been obtained.
The flow field in the swirl chamber of a motored diesel engine was measured by Laser Doppler Anemometry (LDA).
The authors also established a flow field calculating model for the bell type swirl chamber and had a computer simulation by simulating the tested engine.
